The challenge

The site sits near a river, so the old ground was weak and prone to settlement — construction had to prevent subsidence and water leaking into the foundations. Renovation and new construction also ran while the plant was operating, so material and equipment movements could not disrupt production.

Hasacon's solution

With renovation and new build running in parallel, Hasacon set up temporary zoning with barriers and clear routing. For the river-side ground with high settlement, careful revetment limited groundwater intrusion into the works, backed by standby pumping systems.

Delivered result

Completed ahead of the required deadline. The new parking area's improved routing saves staff time; safety was maintained throughout; outstanding issues were resolved and production continued uninterrupted.
