The challenge
Converting an old classroom block into a multi-purpose hall at FTU while students kept studying — heavy foot traffic made moving materials and equipment risky. Works had to avoid stressing the existing frame, and the hall needed to work as one large space or split into two classrooms on demand.
Hasacon's solution
Hasacon worked with the university on screening and zoning, signage and warning lights; routed main and secondary paths through barriers, opened a secondary gate and set up a separate material staging area. Before construction, the existing frame was studied with the architects so the renovation would not affect it.
Delivered result
Successful maintenance, upgrade and conversion — meeting the design intent, keeping staff and students safe, preserving the surrounding campus, and giving the university a new space for activities.
